London Olympics to ban all cars.

London Olympics organisers want to ban the aniticpated eight million spectators  from travelling by car in the capital during the 2012 Games.

According to the Times (London), the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA), the team organising the London Olympics in 2012,  wants to make the Games a testing ground for a radical shift in transport planning to be extended to all major cultural and sporting events. It is even trying to deter spectators from using cars for part of their journey and has cancelled plans in the original bid for two giant park-and-ride sites on the M25 and M11.

Although dignitaries and officials from the International Olympic Committee and sponsors will be able to drive in special Olympic lanes in Games time, the ODA want people to go to and from Stratford International using the new seven-minute javelin train service from St Pancras.
